This website is the hosting of a project by Frank Force, it's quite amazing how he has created such a useful tool in such a small size. Frank Force creates projects that are designed to be small in size. He probably should not have used inline java script events, but this tool does the job. People who are wanting to create 8bit style games in java script this project is the way to go.

There is probably a place for 8bit remakes like defender or space invaders as all the browsers can run webgl now.
