Theoretical Particle Physics - Antimatter - A Possible Particle Shield

Post by Administrator » Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:08 pm

Antimatter is the same in every way than regular matter, but oppositely charged. Anything that touches it from this universe will instantly be annihilated, that is, it wont exist. What if a consistent stream of antimatter particles was created in a vacuum such as space, wouldn't this annihilate anything that touches it. One of the main problems of deep space travel is matter traveling at high speeds, such as micro asteroids, this could be a serious problem for a transportation vehicle such as a space ship.

A possible solution to this could be a closely bound mesh of antimatter, a stream around the exterior of such vehicles, this would create an impenetrable shield not far from the functionality of a space ship shield from a science fiction movie.

Not only would this remove the matter it would clear the pathway and continuously annihilate all the matter connected in its path.

Obviously this mesh will be invisible to the naked eye, and would be required to be a distance away from the actual vehicle., so that the actual vehicle is not involved in this annihilation.
